III. The Short of it
Leaving Kugane behind with a heavy heart, Solvar finds himself at the mercy of an information broker, who helps him find his footing in Ul'dah. Sand stones, heat waves, heavy carts carrying spices and foods from all over. A good place to stay. To find love.
But peace and quiet never lasts, does it?
One fateful day, a job taken without his usual consideration would change the young man forever. Coming back broken - changed - Solvar will not speak about it, no matter how much one presses him. His crimson eyes that hold a sadness far too deep for his apparent age will flick away from a gaze trying to hold his. Keeping others at an arm's length has always been a trusted safety measure, one he employs to the extreme now.
However, if one is in need of a talented map maker and gleaner, he will carry out the task with utmost precision. So precise in fact, it does make one wonder how he does it...
